@soulbeattv Chuck Johnson and Soulbeat TV are the first Cultural Strategist-in-Government in District 7. We will be archiving legacy stories of District 7, speaking to Councilmember Reid, and highlighting experiences of D7 residents. We invite YOU - residents, business owners, community leaders, and youth of District 7 - to participate in this project. Join us to discuss the challenges of living in District 7 while sharing ways in which we can build a thriving community and economy for future generations to come. @staciemcclam Last Saturday, the Bay Area Video Coalition @bavcmedia hosted a Reels Mixer with @campreelstories to celebrate Women’s History Month. It was fun to meet both emerging and veteran creators in the film industry. Some of the participants were mentors, and others were mentees.

🎥@bvacmedia has been very welcoming which is something that I have found, in general, with the Bay Area film community.

🎞️Filmmaking is a collaborative effort! I have been intentional about attending film-related events, when I can, to network with other creators.

🌍I am inspired watching others work towards using their film to share a story that the world needs to hear.

🎬I am learning the importance of networking and marketing as a filmmaker.

📝Filmmaking is my third career so I am fairly new to the film industry and am intentional about putting myself in places that are film-focused.

👩🏿‍🏫As a former teacher, I am inspired to bring forth films that raise awareness about education issues and solutions.

🎨The event location at the Black-owned, Oakstop @oakstop was the perfect place to be among the beautiful artwork created by local artists. The power of art in the community and arts education in schools!

The space is awesome and very unique. It blends the artist performance space and tech startup culture with Oakland’s edginess and beauty.

You get the professionalism and capacity to get high level work done but without the pretentiousness and sterileness of a traditional tech work setting. Cost was also pretty reasonable and probably much cheaper than comparable spaces.
